About the work
"I did not find this room — she found me. A place where time has lost its voice, where walls whisper in peeling layers and the floor creaks like a memory. Everything here breathes decay, but not without beauty. It is precisely in this decayed space that I wanted to place something that lives, that remains: Van Gogh’s Starry Night.
The painting does not hang there as decor, but as a countervoice. As the room sinks into silence, the stars scream their eternal dance.
The natural light coming through the window is my accomplice. It touches the painting differently every morning — sometimes bright, sometimes soft — as if the cosmos itself is participating in the game. And yet the room remains silent. No person, no sound, only the echo of a brushstroke from another era.
With this work, I want to show that art does not die, not even in a space that seems to do so. That beauty nests in contrast. And that even in decay, something can continue to shine.”
